As part of CAFC’s mission to promote the highest standards of public safety, we help ensure the protection of the public through advocacy and active collaboration with key stakeholders.  So it makes sense that the Federal Government is an important stakeholder that we engage with through our government relations programs.  

 

Theissues that we advocate about range from mental health to the evolving role of the fire department.  As such, we engage with nearly every government department.   

 

Through the CAFC, our members can participate in any number of the following government relations related initiatives:

 

     Working Groups and Standing Committees

     Government Relations Week: Chiefs on the Hill being our most visible event.

     Government Submissions 

 

In addition, we help act a liaison between the fire service and the media and keep our members updated via Fire Press Fridays.
