CAFC Appoints Daniel Perron to its Board of Directors

The Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs announced it has appointed Fire Chief Daniel Perron to its Board of Directors. A veteran board member of the Québec Fire Chiefs Association and representative to the National Advisory Council will serve on the CAFC Board for a one-year term.

Daniel brings a wealth of proven fire as well as association leadership experience,” said Fire Chief Paul Boissonneault, President of CAFC. “I am so pleased that Daniel is now joining CAFC’s board!”

“I am honoured to serve on the board of the CAFC, an organization that represents the fire service from coast to coast to coast,” Perron said. “I look forward to working together with the CAFC board, National Advisory Council and management team in promoting and delivering the highest standard of public safety across Canada.”


Daniel started his career as a volunteer in 1980 and is today the Fire Chief of the city of Sainte-Julie on the south shore of Montréal in Québec. Sainte-Julie is a suburb city of 32 000 people with a fire dept. of 43 part-time firefighters, company officers and district chiefs. He also worked in the private sector and for the ministry of public security of the province of Québec as a fire safety counsellor.

He is a graduate of the University of Montréal in fire prevention and of the university of Québec in Chicoutimi in management (HR and accident prevention). He is currently a regional director and a board member of the Québec Fire Chiefs Association.
