On behalf of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs, I would like to inform you of changes happening here at the association.
We are sad to inform you that our Executive Director, John-Paul Cody-Cox, will be leaving us mid-July to move his career in a new direction. Since joining the association in 2012, JP has worked to build a strong federal presence for CAFC, resulting in government focus on our key national issues and advancements in public safety policy priorities. We thank him for all of his hard work and I know you will join me in wishing him well.
Together with JP, we are developing a comprehensive transition strategy which will ensure the continuity of business operations, including the delivery and timelines of all current programs and initiatives. As always, we will collaborate with the Board of Directors and National Advisory Council as the organization looks toward next steps, and will provide ongoing updates to our members and stakeholders.
As we look ahead, this is an exciting time for our organization. We are taking immediate steps to boost our internal capacity with administration and communication assistance and in the coming months we will be implementing a comprehensive recruitment process to bring on a new Executive Director. We are making good progress on CAFC’s strategic plan. Our organization has never been stronger and we know that with your continued support we will further our mission of promoting the highest standard of public safety.
